It’s a wrap for the students of Mrs. Menards and Mrs. Boykin’s kindergarten class. Mrs. Boykin enlisteded the help of the students and parents and surprised Mrs. Menard with a beautiful keepsake box with heartfelt letters from her students and some of her favorite snacks. In their final week, they performed for family and friends at their end of the year program. Lots of happy tears for this amazinging bunch of students. Hello Summer!

Dewar Elementary School is so excited to announce that our Small Business award goes to Title Town Toys. Title Town Toys has been a huge blessing for Dewar Elementary School. The Greer's ensured that our students participated in a very festive Fall Festival/PBIS Fall party with their generous donations of pumpkins and student incentives. Title Town Toys has donated money throughout the year to ensure that we were able to complete monthly incentives/treats for the staff. They also helped to make sure that for our upcoming school year that our students/families each have a car placard to ensure the safety pick up of our students. When we ask for assistance, Title Town Toys has been there. We are so proud of their generosity and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Dewar Elementary School would like to congratulate Mrs. Viriginia Atkinson for being our Volunteer of the Year. Mrs. Atkinson is a former teacher of Lowndes County Schools and is a small business owner. She is involved in many activities in the community; however, that has not stopped her from giving her time and assistance to our students/teachers at Dewar Elementary. Mrs. Atkinson is always available to come in and read to our students and is so intriguing. She even adopted a couple of classrooms and donated books to the class. She participates in Career Day and even drops off sweet incentives for our staff on a regular basis. Mrs. Atkinson is available for whatever and whenever we need her. Thanks for being such an asset and inspiration to Dewar Elementary!

Dewar Elementary would like to congratulate Jeff Fulp with ERCO for our large business Community Partner Award! ERCO has gone above and beyond this school year. They have only recently become our community partner and have surpassed more than we could have ever imagined. They have donated funds to events that we do monthly for our staff, student incentives, ensured that we will have car placards for car riders for the upcoming school year, and given funds for teacher appreciation. We are so appreciative and excited!

The Summer Countdown continues in Mrs. Menard’s and Mrs. Boykin’s room. Monday was Glow Day and their balloon pop revealed popsicles for a class treat. During math rotations students got to participate in bowling away (subtraction), glowing numbers (putting numbers in order 1-100), roll and add, Minus 1 and spin a number. What an awesome way to review skills.

The very first Good Morning Dewar News Show celebrated the end of the year with pizza, sodas and cupcakes. These 5th grade girls have done a tremendous job this year bringing a live daily news show to everyone at Dewar Elementary. They served as the hosts and producers of the show each day.
