We are excited to get the school year underway following our weather-related delay. We understand the challenges and disruptions this delay may have caused, and we appreciate your patience and understanding! Our teachers and staff will return to work tomorrow, August 7th.
Elementary, Journey, and Middle School Open Houses will be moved to Thursday, August 8th, at the same time previously scheduled. Lowndes High School Ignite will be a drop-in event for 9th graders and new students on Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 pm. Students will return to school on Friday, August 9th.
The Lowndes County Schools Work Session is canceled, our regular Board Meeting is still scheduled for August 12th at 6:00 p.m. All schedule changes will be posted on our social media for your convenience.

Due to the rainfall in our area, along with flooding, potential road conditions, and power outages, we are postponing Open House and all other scheduled activities including the first day of school. Once the storm passes through, we will assess safety conditions before determining when activities will reconvene. Open House and Ignite will be rescheduled when it is safe for our staff, students, and families to access roadways and facilities. We will keep you updated. The safety of our staff and students is always our top priority.
A phone call to families was not able to be completed at this time due to service outages, but one will be sent as soon as we are able.

Due to the threat of inclement weather and Governor Kemp issuing Georgia as a State of Emergency, all Lowndes County Schools and system offices will close on Monday. All Open Houses will be postponed. Elementary, Journey, and Middle School Open Houses will be moved to Tuesday at the same time previously scheduled.
